THE LAGOON ZANZIBAR

The name derives from three natural lagoons that co-exist in one compound, which are mysteriously connected through underground channels from the Indian Ocean. The water in the Lagoons exchanges naturally, depending on the tides of the Ocean, that is, when it’s high tide at the sea, the volume of the water in the Lagoons increases automatically and vice vasa.
THE LAGOONS ZANZIBAR aims at saving and conserving the endangered and extinct marine turtles by buying them from the indecisive fishermen’s hands, after being caught in their nets while fishing. We keep the caught turtles in this sanctuary to save them from being killed, eaten, or after being wounded during the fishing process.
The Lagoons Zanzibar temporarily keeps this endangered species in the Lagoons to take care for, allow them to heal until their full recovery, and release them to their natural habitat while strong enough to survive and expand their life cycle.

During the healing and recovery process, The Lagoons Zanzibar provides tourists and visitors to the lagoons with the opportunity to get knowledge of the turtle’s life cycle,
chance to physically see, feed, and swim with these wonderful and astonishing marine creatures.
The Lagoons Zanzibar tends to participate to the Turtles Release Day on 20th February every year to serve our ultimate purpose.

Zanzibar Kilosa’s conservation it is small zoo located in northern tip of Unguja island in a small village called Nungwi

The zoo is based on helping animals which are going to disappeared according to tourst development or city development like construction of hotel and others government infrastructure. Mostly of animals starting missing their habitat thuse why we start to help them.

Zanzibar Kilosa’s conservation we have different species of animals like

Chameleon, monkey, baboon, bush baby, small antelope, different species of land tortoise, snake parks, ostrich, crocodile, elephant shrew and different species of trees.

ABOUT LION PARK
The Lion Park is a new project located in south part of Nungwi which is 6.9km from Nungwi village (15minutes) along side way between Tazari cave and safira blue luxury resort.
The park comprise different animals like: lion, antelope, eland and impala.

What you can do their is guiding, feeding and take pictures.
